When should I keep my child home?

Very often there is not an easy answer to this question. Listed below are
some guidelines for you to use in making that decision.
Your child should stay home if he/she :

  • has vomited during the night or in the morning.
  • has a temperature of 100 degrees or more. Your child should be fever
    free for 24 hours without the use of Tylenol or Ibuprofen before
    returning to school.
  • has persistent diarrhea during the night or in the morning.
  • has been diagnosed wtih a strep infection. Your child should be on
    antibiotics for 24 hours before returning to school
  • has contracted a contagious illness, including but not limited to:
Chicken pox Head lice
Ringworm Strep Throat
Vomiting Stomach ache
